Method not allowed / unable to send credentials to your WordPress site

Thanks for your report @grzegorzjanoszka! Could you check with your host if they are blocking REST API requests? That and other security measures may prevent the setup to complete as noted in our documentation. If they can temporarily disable any blocks or whitelist your site it might help.

Please let us know any further information: if the problem was resolved, how and which host, that would be most helpful!

I have disabled anonymous REST API, it is still enabled for logged in users (and works for me).
Now I actually could go a step forward and I got to:

The problem now is not on my site but on sitekit.withgoogle.com.

thanks for the update @grzegorzjanoszka ! Could enable REST API fully and let us know if you’re able to proceed? Also could you tell us which host you are with?

Renee, I am my host. I have a VPS and I host my server. BTW eventually I was able to set everything up. It took me more than 15 minutes with lots of retries. And I had to disable my object cache plugin.
Did you try this plugin with the object cache? Please do as I think there might be some cache issues that prevented me from authenticating my site.

Thanks for the update @grzegorzjanoszka ! I’m glad you eventually got this resolved. What is the name of your object cache plugin? We do advise disabling caching plugins, but knowing which you’re using would be most helpful.

Caching plugins make sense and that’s why people use them. You can just write a code that works well with an object cache.

The plugin is used is this one: https://github.com/l3rady/WordPress-APCu-Object-Cache with a few tweaks done by me.

It seems the problems were caused by a nonce not being really unique and I saw in the latest changelog that a bug regarding that was fixed so hopefully it will all work in the future.

@grzegorzjanoszka thanks for your feedback and providing your current caching solution (to note disabling the caching would be a temporary step at setup) We’ll continue to investigate this. Thank you!
