(Apologies I posted this yesterday in the wrong place – so below is my original question and an answer from I-Themes. However, given the answer I need to expand on my issues)

    My Problem:
When I use 2nd level menus i.e. Sub menus they don’t work with IPads and Android mobiles. Fine on computers.

    Site is: https://www.2ndgoorkhas.com

Any advice much appreciated as doing this for a charity FOC.

    Hi nigel52blog,

the theme makes use of the popular SlickNav script for the mobile navigation and this navigation has been designed in a way that when you click on the menu item itself, it will take you to the content that has been assigned to that particular menu item.

To open sub-menus in the mobile navigation, you can click on the arrow next to the menu item (or anywhere else on the same line of the menu item) and the sub-menu will open as expected.

By the way, the support forum for your theme is located here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/theme/mh-magazine-lite

I do see the arrow next to the menu for further sub menus but they will not open on an Ipad or Android device. I have read somewhere that one cannot have the top menu item linked to a page only as a title but I cannot see how I produce a menu item that is either not a page or a custom URL?
    regards
    Nigel

  • Hi Nigel,

we just checked your site on an iPhone 6 Plus and the sub-menus are working fine without any issues. Again, you need to click the arrow or anywhere next to the arrow to open the sub-menu.

It also hasn’t been reported by other users that clicking on menu items or sub-menus doesn’t work. In addition you can check the theme demo for further verification.

And if you want that a menu item doesn’t link anywhere, then simply add the menu item as custom link and enter # instead of an URL.

Many thanks working on my Samsung S5 but must be an issue with the ipad as sometimes it works and sometimes not. To be sure I have added a menu of links on the Sirmoor Rifles Association(SRA) page in case by mistake a reader has a problem with a touch screen.

    Again thanks
    Nigel

You’re welcome. In general this works fine on iPads as well. If you see an issue on your iPad, then please clear your browser cache and reload the site in the browser.

Please also keep in mind that the site navigation automatically adapts based on if the site is being viewed in portrait or landscape mode on iPads.
