Microsoft 365 Email Account Issue
-
I’ve setup Post SMTP plenty of times in WordPress websites. This time though I’m having issues for some reason.
It’s a Microsoft 365 account, which I’ve logged into on outlook.com and tested that it can send emails. But when I set it up in Post SMTP and try to send a test email, I get this message:
5.7.3 Authentication unsuccessful [AM4PR0701CA0033.eurprd07.prod.outlook.com]
These are my Post SMTP settings:
Type: SMTP Mail Type: PostSMTP Outgoing Mail Server Hostname: smtp.office365.com Outgoing Mail Server Port: 587 Envelope-From Email Address: My Microsoft 365 email address Security: STARTTLS Authentication: Login Username/Password: Tested login on outlook.com
I also tried configuring OAuth 2.0, but on the step “How will you prove your identity to the mail server?” I just get a blank square. I just clicked next and later configured the settings manually, but then I get a message saying:
OAuth 2.0 authentication requires a supported OAuth 2.0-capable Outgoing Mail Server.
No idea why I’m having these issues, but any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks
