    Hey there,

we write a weekly article with stock exchange news. The article has tables inside which we update every week.

My colleague wants to update these tables in Microsoft Edge and since some weeks he has the problem, that the mouse cursor jumps out of the table – he cannot edit the numbers in the visual dashboard!

I disabled all Plugins – with no effect – Cursor still jumps out of the table.

I found somebody with the same problem – but we have not installed TinyMCE-Plugin at all… (https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/table-bug-with-edge-plugin-needs-update-to-4-7-13/)
By the way: Installing TinyMCE with this BugFix did not work. Still the same problem

    Is this a WordPress – Microsoft-Edge Problem?

Is there any solution out there?

    Regards,
    Elke

  • So this problem happens only (sometimes) when you are using Microsoft-Edge browser to create the newsletter inside the WordPress page editor. Does this problem happen with other browsers, or with other operating systems ? If the answer is NO, then it is a Microsoft problem.

What does Microsoft technical support say ?
How many times have I been told that you must use commercial software if you want to have support.
From experience Microsoft will blame and deflect responsibility for their fault.

Suggest that you use a different browser or different computer.

With other browsers it works fine.
    It is only Microsoft Edge.

My colleague installs another browser now.

So it is a Microsoft problem…

    Thanks for your fast answer,
    Elke

Thanks to all for the information. I can confirm that I’ve the same effect in WordPress table editing by means of MS-Edge. Using Firefox instead. crigou.

    Hi grafikIfotoIwebIdesign,
It is not sure that the fault is on Edge side.
One could raise the problem to WordPress developers, who recreate the failure. The developers can then determine whether the inconsistency is either with WP or with Edge. At this point, if Edge is faulty, the developers would raise the problem to Microsoft.
    Kind Regards.

I’ve just done another test: try to access my table in the WP Visual Dashboard, by means of the browser Edge / iOS. Result: the problem described here above doesn’t appear.
    Regards.

    Dear all.
Just this night, I tried again to edit the Table in the WP Visual Dashboard: everything is working fine by now, even from MS-Edge with Windows 10. Obviously things are working better since WP updating from 4.9.7 to 4.9.8.
    Regards.
    crigou.
