Migrate or just copy Joomla site?

    I am a complete noob with Joomla, but need to get some posts (articles?) from an old Joomla site we are now making in WordPress.

    If I use this plugin to migrate the site to my localhost version of the new site I’m making, will the old Joomla site be in any way affected? I need it to stay up and working fine until the new WordPress site is ready.

    I guess I am asking, by using this plugin, I”m just copying the old Joomla site, not moving any files, right?

    I confirm that the Joomla site is not affected by the migration.
