migrate pages and posts into new site

I have a new site, but need to import only the Posts and Pages of another WP site into it. I did try dumping the database from the new site and then importing the sql file from the old site, but I got all sorts of settings that messed up the new site. That being said, how might I import only the Pages and Posts.
