Migrate to localhost with MySQL on remeote server

  • I’ve seen several posts on how to migrate to localhost to enable local working but only with the MySQL daatbase moved to localhost as well. The MySQL database resides on an Amazon Web Services server, which is where I want to leave it whilst I’m working locally. I’ve downloaded the website files from the remaore server, installed them locally and when I connect I get “Oops! That page can’t be found.” response in the body of the page. The header and footer parts of the page are ok.

    Also when I try to connect to the WordPress backend via wp-admin I get redirected towards the live site.

    Obviously I need to make a few simple changes to a config file.
