This Plugin works Great for migrating from one domain to another but i cannot transfer an existing website to my server without first transfering it to a different domain.

Is there a solution for this or am I already doing it the best way?

Thank you for the feedback! We truly appreciate your kind words and are thrilled to hear about your positive experience with us. Your feedback means a lot and motivates us.

To migrate a site on the same URL but to a different server, we recommend initiating the migration using the FTP method.

When entering the FTP credentials, please include the new server IP under Advanced Options > Server IP. This will ensure our system identifies the new server as the destination bypassing the existing DNS settings and successfully migrates the content from the old server.

Ok Thanks. I tried this and i cannot log into both wordpress installations at the same time it just redirects to the one where the A record is pointed.

I usually use cpanel for the destination and it allows me to install wordpress on an existing wordpress domain but then when i try to login it redirects to the original site until i point the A record to the new ip but the i cant log into the original site.

When you say to use FTP Method do i use the migrate guru plugin for this?

    Hey,

You can skip the DNS settings by editing the host file. By accessing the site over the new server you can generate a new migration key and migrate your site using the cPanel migration method.

Please ensure to include the new server IP under Advanced Options > Server IP.
