Migrating from CGM

  • Hi Norbert,

    Tahnks so much for continuting development of this plugin.

    I’ve recently been asked to update a site, and one of the plugins was CGM. They have an embedded map with 200+ markers on it. When I replace CGM with Slick Google Map the map appears, and the first 13 markers appear, and at first I can click markers and drag the map (for perhaps 1 second) but then the map stops responding. After that I cant drag the map or click any markers. The remaining 187 markers never appear.

    Each time I try to drag the map I get 80+ new errors in the console. They all start with ‘TypeError’.

    A possiblly relevant update:

    I’ve tried using a subset of the 200 markers, to see if it was the quantity that was causing it to break. I tried subsets of 30, 40 and 50 markers.

    On all three tests it rendered 14 markers and then the script froze.

    Update2: Even if I use less than 14 markers (e.g. I just ran a test with 5 markers), the map is draggable for the first second or two only, then everything freezes. I still get 80+ errors in the console for every drag (even successful ones).

    This plugin also seems to be incompatible with Visual Composer 4.9. If I install Slick Google Map then the VC interface doesn’t appear on Page/Post admin screens. If I install Slick Google Maps the VC interface reappears. This is a major problem ??
