Migrating from Local Host to www.ads-software.com Hosted Solution

  • We were hosting a local install of wordpress, however due to security/ maintenance concerns I’ve been asked to move it to a wordpress.com site. I’ve seen lots of instructions on how to migrate the other way, but is there best practices for moving data onto a wordpress.com.

    Also our site is currently down & we might not want to bring the wordpress install back to life, is there anyway to pay wordpress.com to migrate the data for us? I see it is $129 to move the other direction.

    To wordpres.com ? are you sure ?

    Actually you have to export the xml file as backup of posts and pages. However, you need to manually insert the images yourself.
