Migrating from WordPress.com to www.ads-software.com

  • Hi there!

    I was able to install WordPress 2.7.1 thru GoDaddy.com’s web hosting service. I now have the following questions:
    1. how can I import my wordpress.com blog to marcuscanblog.com which will be my new domain.
    2. where will upload the *.xml file?

    I already did that but I encounter a 500-Internal server error and I already got a reply from GoDaddy.com that this is a WordPress error and not a hosting error.

    Can anyone help me or advise if there’s another appproach to import from dot com to dot org?

    I currently have a domain on WordPress.com and a self-hosted www.ads-software.com blog/domain on 1&1. My 1&1 package includes hosting for two domains. How do I move the domain/blog on WordPress.com to the self-hosted www.ads-software.com without losing my posts, comments, libraries, etc.?

    A simple way is to export your wordpress.com blog and import in your www.ads-software.com
    Remember during import, uncheck the pictures and attachments to be downloaded. Not to worry, the pictures, comments, and other things still show up for mine.
