I am trying to migrate my WordPress Multisite to a different domain and am having a lot of trouble doing so. My Multisite has 3 different pages running on different subdirectories

    The steps I have used:

    1. Created a fresh WordPress multisite on my new host and got that running
    2. Copied over the WordPress config files from my old host to the new host, replacing the old IP address in wp-config.php with my desired new IP address
    3. Dumped my MySQL database to a .sql file, found and replaced all of the old IP addresses with the new IP address, then set it as my new database

My website is linking with my Database fine, and there don’t seem to be any errors in the log. However, I get “connection timed out” every time I try to connect to my website. Have I missed any steps?

Thanks in advance for any help!

  • .htaccess file maybe? It’s custom to a multisite install and you’ve probably edited it for the fresh mu install but I don’t know if it changes as new blogs are made or not so you might check your old htaccess against the new.
I’ve never done a multisite migration myself, just a thought.

Never mind, I figured it out! Turns out it was just an issue with the IP address I was using to connect to my host. Silly error
