I’m running my photography blog on a server that is getting kinda slow and thus I’m in the process of migrating it to another server. I have copied the databases and all the files from the old server to the new one, but when I’m trying to access the blog on the new server, I’m redirected to the old one. I need to change the url for the blog in the settings for the new server, in order to avoid the redirection – But how do I do that without the admin interface?

  • I’m also having the same issue and can’t find anything in any search engines.

Take a look at Moving WordPress and if that doesn’t help, post back here.

Found the issue ?? Next time i’ll search the wordpress documents itself. You need to use a txt editor to gothrough the sql file downloaded and change all URLS to the new URL

I read the documentation as I should have in the first place. Use something like phpMyAdmin to Access the SQL and in the wp_options table, change the values of “siteurl” and “Home”. Thats all, 2 seconds of work.

    Thanks for helping ??
