Migrating site, can’t upload files to wp-content/uploads

  • I’ve just moved my site over to another server and I’m noticing I am unable to migrate any images to my new server. I get a get the following error:

    Any idea how to fix this? I typically have my permissions set to 775 and have never run into any issues. If I try to set my permissions to 777 I am still unable to upload files to the /uploads folder.

    This problem only happens within the /uploads folder.

    Edit: I am able to upload files to the uploads folder through the WordPress interface. Just not directly via FTP.

  • Have you tried uploading the images through the WordPress media manager. If you use the media manager, then the images will be available for insertion in posts, pages, widgets.

    If you ftp, then the images won’t appear in the media manager.

    Hi,

    Yes I am able to upload these images through the media manager. The problem is that, since I am migrating this from a different server all the images are already set up with links. If I re upload them I will have to change all the URLs. If I am able to upload them via FTP the old URLs i have already set up will work.

    When you moved your site, did you zip the wp-content folder? If so, that should contain all the image files in the uploads folder. You should have to ftp them
