Migrating Static Websites to WordPress

if the sites have an rss feed it would be easy
install wordpress and import the feed

I am not into RSS feeds yet but intend to read up on the technology soon. One of my sites is a one page static website – https://www.onepagewebsite.org.

that looks like an easy cut and paste to a wordpress Page
then you would set it to be the static front page in the wordpress admin
you could even create your own page template to use

I think you would want to set up wordpress in a folder off the root like “test” and tweak everything how you want it – then move wordpress to the root when ready

I have been trying unsuccessfully to upload a WordPress site on my localhost to GoDaddy. After talking with GoDaddy support, I used their automatic install of WordPress and now have it installed inside of “mysite/wordpress.” Next step is to upload my MySQL database to GoDaddy but I am confused about the process of doing same. Some instructions say that I first must deactivate any plugins or themes in my localhost site. Then I would go to the Host Panel in GoDaddy and go through the import routine of this altered database, followed by an edit of my wp-config.php file created during my WordPress installation. I am so gunshy after days of failure that I need some assurance as to what I described above is in fact what I need to do.
