Guys, your account management procedure is a pain in the butt!

I was updating a site within a multisite configuration to single site configuration and didn’t want to mess up my existing setup. So I created a new domain, imported the old content to it and then, once everything was working, moved it under the original URL.

Because I set up MailPoet on the new site (council2.olbert.com) I had to get an additional license, under the free plan, for when I moved it under the new URL (council.olbert.com).

Unfortunately, somehow I had created a spurious 2nd plan under my MailPoet account already, so I could not get a second — third from your point of view — plan.

And canceling plans is deferred for a month!!!! I get that you don’t want people signing up for the free premium plan, sending a bunch of stuff out, and then cancelling the free premium plan immediately thereafter.

But it puts people like me in a terrible position. At the very least you should consider allowing people to change the authorized domain for the free premium plan. I tried to do that but couldn’t find any way to do so on your site. Which is why I then canceled the plans…only to run into that month long deferral.

I would be >>fine<< if you cleared all the existing, pending cancellation plans in my account with you. That would let me set up a new free account, which is all I want to do.

If that can’t be done please let me know and I will depart MailPoet for some other service.

    – Mark

  • Hi @markolbert,

We limit the number of free plans you can have per account to 2.

All plans (including the paid ones) can only be set to be canceled by the end of the current billing period (or month), instead of being canceled immediately.

While the plan status is “active” (and not “canceling”), you can easily change the domain associated with it. Please refer to this article: How to Change the Domain Associated with the Premium License

If you want to cancel your plan immediately to subscribe to a new one, please email our support team via support(at)mailpoet.com
