Migration but keeping same domain name

    Hi all, some newbie WPvivid questions if I may.
    I want to migrate a WP site from one host to another (iPage to Bluehost) but want to keep exactly the same domain name for the new site. In setting up a new fresh site on Bluehost, I have to first point the domain to Bluehost’s nameservers (would this break the original site?) but to do the migration with WPvivid, I think I have to keep both old and new sites open at the same time.
    My first question is- is it possible to have 2 sites with the same domain open at the same time? Or do I need to call the new site something else until I’d migrated and then change it’s name? All the videos I’ve watched on the process don’t seem to cover this.

    To answer your questions,

    That would not break the original site, you just would not be able to visit the site with that domain. And the original site can still be accessed and migrated without that domain.

    No, that is not possible.

    3. Or do I need to call the new site something else until I’d migrated and then change it’s name?

    No, you don’t need to do that. Feel free to point the domain to new host’s nameservers before the migration and our plugin will replace the domain automatically in the migration process.

    Thanks, that’s given me a better understanding of how things work. I’ve now successfully used WPvivid to move 5 sites! It’s a great plugin.
