    Hi,

Did you take a backup of your database prior to the migration as recommended? The forms should have all been migrated over to the yikes_easy_mc_forms table in the database.

I can recommend that you check the table above to ensure that it is empty. The previous options should have only been deleted once the forms were successfully transferred over.

On another note, did your other options migrate? When the migration completed was the API key still entered on the options page?

    Thanks,
    Evan

    Hi Sdk,

Are you showing a particular error?

Here is a guide to troubleshooting: https://yikesinc.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/6000069084-upgrading-to-version-6-troubleshooting

If you can give us a rundown of the steps you took and what happened that would be helpful.

    Thank you.

I have a backup, the lists were there but I had to add the API key again

When you originally migrated, the lists were there but the API key was not? Or you reverted to a backup?

I am referring to the initial migration. Was the API key present after the migration failed?

    Thread Starter sdk

    (@sdk)

Here’s what that table looks like

I started the migration process after deactivating/reactivating the plugin as it stated
the process just hung there for over 30 minutes without any notices
the API key was not present after migration failed

You should be seeing small notices appear on the screen as each option is migrated. If you take a look at the follow knowledge base article: https://yikesinc.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/6000069073-upgrading-to-version-6-performing-the-upgrade

about half way down, you’ll see the small notices.

Since it may be a js error, what I can recommend as suggested in our troubleshooting for the migration (https://yikesinc.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/6000069084-upgrading-to-version-6-troubleshooting – second to last faq) is to temporarily disable all of your other plugins, and switch to a default WordPress theme such as TwentyFifteen.

Once those two steps are complete, re-try the migration. I’ve tested the migration a few times, in a few different environments with those settings without issue.

What version of the plugin are you updating from? Is it a really old version, or the most recent v5.4.4?

    Thanks,
    Evan

i can’t deactivate plugins or change the theme – it’s a live site for a school

    upgrading from Version: 5.4.4

    (@eherman24)

Without being able to resolve the js issue, I’m not sure there is a way around the migration.

The only other thing I can suggest is you clone the site to a staging environment and re-run the migration as suggested above. Once things work you can just export the forms and settings and then re-import them back to your live site.

i’m just re-adding the forms one by one at this point.

one odd note: the plugin is showing all lists except one? i can view the list in mailchimp…

    Plugin Author Evan Herman

    (@eherman24)

That’s odd, I haven’t come across that issue before. Is this a newly created list, or one that previously existed?

You can try clearing out the cache stored on your site, to re-download the data from MailChimp.

How many lists do you currently have in the dropdown? 30?

I’ll double check that the API call to MailChimp API isn’t being limited somehow.

    Thread Starter sdk

it’s there now – i updated the list on mailchimp and i wonder if it push a change?

    Plugin Author Evan Herman

    (@eherman24)

It’s possible. The cache in the plugin is temporarily stored for an hour, as to not overload the MailChimp API with requests from your account.

It looks like you installed the plugin about about an hour ago, so I’m guessing that the cache expired and re-freshed itself.

    Hi sdk,

Let us know if you’re back on track or if we can provide further assistance.

    Thank you for your patience!

    still not sure what happened.

i had to manually add all the forms again and re-add the widgets to everyones sidebars.

thx for you help and for this free plugin!
