    Hello,

The website is a few months old and i just discovered your plugin and would like to migrate. Right now the forum is only one out of many other pages and thus it is not exclusively a forum website. Users can start public or private topics in forum, other users can comment. Users automatically get notified of recent responses as they are automatically subscribed when they post a comments etc. Features like @mentions etc are working.

I would like to migrate all the posts, topics and replies along with their time stamps and all the features i mentioned above. Also i do not want any other page like the registration , lost password etc. or any other feature than the forum and possibly member rankings. The registrations and everything else is handled by the website.

Could you give me some instructions or direct me to a tutorial that does this? Appreciate it! Thank You.

Also, my user membership is via buddypress.

    Hi @cj74,

The migration tool you can use called Go2wpForo, this is a separate plugin, you can download it here:

Please read this article, it also will be helpful for you:

    Hello @gvectorssupport

Thank you for that information, appreciate it.

The article still doesn’t clarify my earlier questions about registration, login, and related aspects in this plugin which i do not want since they are handled by buddypress. How do i make sure they do not interfere or generate any conflicts with the current rules that are in place? Can you shed some light on these concerns? Thank you.

    @cj74,
wpForo doesn’t affect your existing Login/Register/Reset-password pages, they’ll be stay the same. You just need to change wpForo Login/Register/Reset-password Page URLs in Dashboard > Forums > Settings > Members admin page to your existing Login/Register/Reset-password URLs. That’s it.

Excuse me i am a newbie.

How do i make that change you are mentioning? Some instructions will help.

Does something needs to filled in in those fields you have highlighted?

Would it be simpler if i deleted or disabled the pages that the plugin might create?

I’ve already mentioned how. For example if your current pages are theses (if not, just change those):

    Login: /login/
    Register: /register/
    Reset Password: /reset-password/

Then you should put those slugs (URL paths) in according fields of wpForo “Custom Authorization URLs” fields in Dashboard > Forums > Settings > Members admin page.

Once these information are added, wpForo will use your current Login/Registration/Reset-password pages.
