I’m trying to get to the backend of sspaint.wordpress.com so I can migrate to new server, but it seems to direct me to a dead page with “no posts”..even tho the blog DOES have many posts…as a result, I can’t get ahold of anything to migrate.

You cannot get to the “backend” at wordpress.com.

Have you gotten a web host, registered a domain name, and installed the software from here at www.ads-software.com? All of that has to be done and set up first. You will also have to pick out a theme and upload it to your new blog if you do not want to use one of the basic ones included with the www.ads-software.com software.

You then have to export your posts, pages, categories and such under manage > exports in your dashboard at wordpress.com, and then import it into your new self-hosted blog by going to manage > import in your new blog dashboard.

Links will have to be imported separately from your new blog dashboard by going to blogroll > import and entering https://sspaint.wordpress.com/wp-links-opml.php

This FAQ at wordpress.com will give you some more information: https://faq.wordpress.com/2007/02/23/how-do-i-move-between-blogs-2/

It’s for a business, otherwise I’d be all over it. None of what you mentioned is the problem. The problem is when I go to my dashboard, then to manage, then at the very top it gives the name of the blog with a “view site” message there…when I click on that I am directed to a site that doesn’t exist..hence the “no posts”
I think what happened is when I created this blog, somehow I got it mixed up with something else. My blog from which there ARE posts and which I want to export is “sspaint.wordpress.com” but the “view site” takes to the nomn-existent “scottsmithpainting.wordpress” THAT IS THE PROBLEM..and I cant figure out how to get it to direct me where it should…to sspaint.wordpress’s dashboard.
