Just wanted to say that the most recent migration was the most nerve-racking – replacing a live site in its same directory, but it went really smooth.
One of the most amazing things about Duplicator is the way it detects the environment it’s installing into, including the url and local file pathway. Really amazing.

I had learned to use file filters in order to manually copy big directories like uploads and galleries – zip them , copy, then unzip into the new wp-content after running your installer. Worked great. Really great plugin! Thank you guys!

Forgot to mention – a handy trick – using CPanel to create a zipped backup of the directory to be overwritten in case anything goes sideways… and don’t forget to zip up the filtered-out directories for transfer. The usual oversize culprit is wp-content/uploads . after running the Duplicator installer, delete the installed uploads file and replace it with your zip…and uncompress it with cPanel.

    Good pointer! Thxs for that…
