Migration to Digital Ocean Droplet

  • I have been using AIO for years with mixed results. I’m trying to move a 1.9 GB WP site from shared hosting (Hostinger) to a DO droplet. I first tested MG by creating another Hostinger account and used FTP to move the site over. That seemed to work.

    After several tries migrating to DO over sftp here’s where I’m at:

    The migration reports as complete.

    When I go to the site I see the WP default theme with none my chosen plugins or theme active. I can see that the theme and plugins have been upload and apparently the database has been overwritten because I can see my original sites blog entries.

    If I try to activate my theme (BuddyX) I get a blank page both on the front and back ends. I’m effectively locked out.

    I’m not sure what needs to happen next to troubleshoot this. Thanks.
