• Hi there, I am designing an ecom website in Twenty Twenty Four and have added the mini cart to my header. However because the header does not look good on mobile, I was going to create another header to show on mobile devices only, so it looks nicer. I am not able to add the mini cart in more than one place. Can somebody please help. I am a novice and new to this. Perhaps there may be a better way to manage this. Thanks

  • Hi @shrewy,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your query. I understand you’re looking to add a mini cart to a second header that’s specifically designed for mobile viewers on your Twenty Twenty-Four theme. Here’s a general approach that might help:

    1. Widgets: WooCommerce typically allows you to add mini carts to widget areas. If your theme supports a widget area for the mobile header, you could add the mini cart there.
    2. Shortcodes: WooCommerce provides shortcodes that can be used to add a mini cart to different parts of your site. You can find more information on how to use these shortcodes in the WooCommerce documentation.

Please give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Hi, sorry for the delay in responding. I have tried this, but the widget in the woocommerce section is greyed out, it only seems to allow me to add it once. See screenshot below. I am new to WordPress, so any advice on how I can add a shortcode to another header would be great.

    Hello shrewy,

    Thank you for your reply.
That is alright, we are here for your support.

Could you share a screenshot via https://snipboard.io or a similar online image-sharing tool?
It would be helpful if you share the URL of your website.
If the website is not live, share a screenshot of the page.

Looking forward to your response. ??

    Best regards.

    Hi Zubair,

Thank you for the swift response. It is appreciated. Please see the screenshot below:

I have not yet connected my official URL, as I had a company build a site, however they had used a very difficult interface for me to work with, so I am now trying to recreate my own website to make my life easier moving forward.

    Hi @shrewy

This is expected behavior. Because you’ve already placed that block in the header, WordPress automatically grey it out, indicating it’s already in use.

To make sure we are on the same page, are you creating your hero section by duplicating the header template? If that’s the case, you can duplicate the mini cart block and move it to your hero section.

However, I recommend creating the hero section in the homepage template instead of adding or duplicating the header template. This is the more appropriate and standard method.

I hope this provides some clarity. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

    Hi,

The rationale for the two headers is so that I can adjust the way it things display on mobile. I am wondering if I need to post this to the Twenty Twenty Four Theme formum. As the way the header looks below is terrible.

Thank you for your time on this, it is appreciated.

    Hi @shrewy,

Thanks for sharing more on how you envision the two headers, however, I would highly recommend reaching out to our theme support team for further assistance with this, as this forum focuses only on the WooCommerce core plugin.

    All the best.

    Hi,

Just to weigh in this is not theme related but a Woocommerce issue. I am running into the same issue, where the cart can only be used once. So is there a solution for this? I know about opening a separate item but it is exactly the same issue.

    Thanks
