tl;dr — Auto minify works, Manual minify stopped working

Everything was working great. Until it stopped.

I use Manual minify mode, enabling CSS minify with a list of files. I also use the “Remove query strings from static resources” plugin which makes it easier to maintain that list since it removes the version number queries.

At some point, the list of CSS files mysteriously disappeared, but minify was still working. Adding a new file meant I had to rebuild the entire list, which I didn’t mind. But now it doesn’t combine anything.

I deleted W3 Total Cache, and manually deleted cache and w3tc-config. Then I reinstalled. No good.

Unchecking “Rewrite URL structure” doesn’t fix it.

Switching from Manual to Auto does work, but I really want manual control.

    What else should I try?

Well, things seem to have straightened out somewhat. I ditched the “Remove query strings from static resources” plugin. I’m able to add CSS again. The numbered indices are funny while adding them, but okay once I save.
