    Hi,

After buying, understanding how it works and setting the Combo Multi Search add-on, I find that the Minimum Search Term Length condition is not working: although I have it marked at “1”, it does not consider it if I type just a letter or number. For instance, If I write in the search field “Beethoven 9”, expecting all results including Beethoven + 9, the “9” is forgotten when giving the searching results. The same happens if I type just one letter, like “C”, expecting to have all the participants beginning by “C”, it simply returns all the participants’ database list…. Only if I write “C*” or “9*”, then it considers the one character minimum search term, but this is not workable at all on the public website.

On the other hand, it is stated on the invoice that this add-on plugin expires in three months…. Is that correct? It was not mentioned anywhere before buying, that the add-ons expires in such a limited short time.

    Thanks for reply asap!

Thanks for your question, it is preferred to handle support for our premium plugins on their own support forum, this one is for the free plugin.

The minimum search term length applies to the total length of the search, not the length of words within the search term.

As to your search results, the combo search will (with the “any” or “all” search modes) search for individual words in a search, breaking words up and searching for them separately. Single-character words are not included in this because that would lead to a lot of spurious matches. For the search example you describe, a “phrase” search may work better because the single character word will be included in that.

This is configured in the “Default Search Modifier” setting, or you can choose to allow the user to choose the search modifier with the “Show the Combo Search Modifiers” setting.

As to the “3 months” that refers to the length of time the download link is active. Once the plugin is installed, any updates will be automatically available, no need to download again. This does not expire.
