Does this plugin also disable the minor auto updates and corresponding emails sent to admin? (just like the recent update to 4.8.2)

    Hi drimendo,

yes it does. The plugin disables each and every outgoing request to the WP update servers so the WP installation won’t be updated at all (as long as the plugin is activated) and no update emails will be sent.

    Best,
    Oliver

Great! Now image updating manually…would these “auto update email” being sent at that point?

To clarify this: We want to disable any email containing message about update even if we perform updates manually.

If you’re updating the installation by overwriting the WP core files via FTP/SSH, no email will be sent, I guess.

But updating via WP backend would trigger these email type?

Well, as long as the plugin is enabled, you won’t be able to update via backend as the plugin blocks every request to the update servers. So as long as the plugin is enabled, your installation will think it’s up-to-date because it cannot fetch any update information.

Once you disable the plugin, you will be able to update the installation via backend, but it may also mean that WP is sending out update emails immediately.
