    Hi,

Is it possible to use the plugin to maintain the apacdnsforum.id page as a separate domain that mirrors the .asia Event Page? For example: I’d like the event page to have a button that, when clicked, directs users to the original link rather than the mirror site that was set up for it.

We do not want “redirection” because we want the apacdnsforum.id text to remain in the search bar when users access the Asia Event page.

If yes, how can this be achieved, and do you have any other suggestions?

    Thank you.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

hy! you can map any url from your original site to a new domain. but you can not change content inside the page if visited through the new domain, if that is what you mean?

all links that are generated through menu functions or core functions will change to link to the new domain. but you can always hardcode links in your page or theme.

best is to give it a try ??

    Hi,

Apologies for the confusion. I have an event page [https://apacdnsforum.asia/events/apac-dns-forum-2024].

Currently I am using your plugin to map a separate domain [https://apacdnsforum.id] to [https://apacdnsforum.asia/events/apac-dns-forum-2024]. This works as expected after doing the mapping, as when I enter [https://apacdnsforum.id] to the browser, it loads the event page just fine.

However, I also noticed that after the mapping, some of the dynamically generated links of the event page on the whole site are grabbing the mapped domain [https://apacdnsforum.id], instead of the original URL, [https://apacdnsforum.asia/events/apac-dns-forum-2024].

For eg. on this page, [https://apacdnsforum.asia/events], one of the grid items links to this event page. Before the mapping, the link is [https://apacdnsforum.asia/events/apac-dns-forum-2024]. However, after the mapping, the link is now [https://apacdnsforum.id].

Is this the expected behavior of the mapping plugin? If so, is there any way we can change this?

    Thank you.

hy! yes, this is expected behaviour, since we aim to deliver content only through this one canonical url. but we have already noticed that some people would love this mirroring feature ??
therefore this is already in our backlog but not yet decided if/how it will be implemented.

it could be handled pretty easy via php hooks, that are prepared in our plugin. if you have a php developer that could do this for you? or if you like you can send me an email to the address linked in my www.ads-software.com profile, then i would be able to give you a quote too.

    Hi Matt,

    Thank you for your reply!

Yes it would be fantastic if there is such a feature in the plugin in future! We’ll look into the php hooks in the plugin and see if we can implement it.

Thank you for your guidance anyway.

    Cheers
