• I have created a back up / mirror of my main wordpress site and hosted it under another domain on another server. My thought is that if the server my main site is on goes down, I can do a temporary redirect to the back up.

However, is there a plugin I can install that will automatically update the mirror site with new pages, photos, etc or edits to pages/posts that I make to the main site?

Otherwise, I have to do the same changes for both sites to keep the mirror site current.

    Ideas? Suggestions?

    Thank you!
    Meghan

  • What I suggest is a good CDN (Content Delivery Network). Use basic hosting for your WP site, hire a competent CDN. They will pull all site content, and delivery that to site visitors. Even if you are down or working on the site, they continue to deliver your content. It also speeds up your site very much as site visitors are delivered cached static content from servers all around the globe.

guardup, did you ever find a way to do this? I’d like to automatically mirror a WordPress site for redundancy. We use Incapsula as a CDN but that doesn’t help for dynamic content. I found a WP plugin called WP Mirror but that requires a manual action.
