Mismatched quotation maks

  • If I use quotation marks and then any puncuation ie. “This is a quote”. The opening quotation mark will be curled but the closing one will be straight. I didn’t seem to find anything to fix this in the forum. Any suggestions? Thanks.

  • You could try making sure that all punctuation is contained within quotes. Like so:
    John said, “but you’re not my mommy!”
    This is technically correct is most situations, but there may be times when you don’t want to do it. Like so:
    How are we supposed to continue when people keep interrupting with their “ideas”?
    I’ve had better luck with SmartyQuotes than with Texturize. It’s just better at all those tricky situations. You may try giving SmartyQuotes a go.

    Thanks. I used the SmartyPants plugin and that did the trick.
