    Hi
On Settings > Ask me anything page, there isn’t a “Save” button for making changes. I have tried changing the Avatar and it keeps reverting back to the default “Monster”.

Also, how can we use the current avatars of the WordPress site?

    Thanks
    Donna Lussier

    Hey @donnalussier

The page you see on the settings page is actually a generator and not the plugin settings. The plugin sources all its settings from the shortcode.

The generator was originally under the Tools menu but I moved it to the Settings menu when I added the CSS settings tab.

    Hope that makes sense.

I will checkout to see the case with the avatars. I am bit tied up this week, so if I do not respond again by the end of this week, please feel free to ping me again.

I am not sure what you mean here. WordPress uses gravatars right?

    Best,

    Hey Donna,

I just tested out gravatars and everything seem to be working well at my end.

    When I use this shortcode

    [askmeanythingpeople avatar="mysteryman"]

    I get this: https://i.imgur.com/wRUqEU7.png

and when I use this shortcode

    [askmeanythingpeople avatar="retro"]

    I get this: https://i.imgur.com/gRtrBKg.png

    Are you seeing different results?

Hey, just following up to see if you had a chance to look into it.

Closing the thread for inactivity, but please feel free to reopen it as needed.

Hi I’m having the same problem and don’t really understand your response. How can I customize the settings without a save button? Please advise!

@thehustleandglow The page is not a settings page, but a shortcode generator. Each time you change one of the options, the shortcode (at the top of the page) updates.

Once you are happy with the options, copy the shortcode to the page where you want to have the Ask Me Anything form.

To help you understand better, here is the default shortcode: https://i.imgur.com/2VsFkmk.png

As soon as I change the “Answers List Order” choice, the shortcode updates: https://i.imgur.com/VLqg6r8.png

Now copy paste the updated shortcode to the page where you want the Ask Me Anything form to appear.

Please let me know if you are still confused.

    Hi Donna,

It’s your topic so if you look at the top of the right sidebar you can mark it as “unresolved”. I’ve just done that for you as you’ve indicated.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    @jdembowski – Thanks for that ??

Hi Arun, I understand now what you mean. I saw the shortcode change when I chose a different Avatar.

In regards to the avatars, users have their own images as their default avatar. I am not able to chose this default in this plugin.

    Hey Donna,

Glad to hear that you finally figured it out.

In regards to the avatars, users have their own images as their default avatar. I am not able to chose this default in this plugin.

The idea of this plugin is to ask questions anonymously. Having their image show up will defeat this purpose and hence isn’t supported. Hope that makes sense.

    Ok thanks for the explanation.
