• Hi all!

I just installed wordpress and can’t upload any files because of this error. I searched all over the internet and tried all solutions I could find, including writing define(‘WP_TEMP_DIR’, dirname(__FILE__) . ‘/wp-content/temp/’); in wp-config file, adding php.ini file in the root, changing file/folder permissions etc but nothing seems to work. nothing!

I really hope anyone else has any advice on what I can try… I really would be great if someone from support could have a look at the website but I couldn’t find the support email.

    Thanks in advance!!

  • There is no support email for the WordPress CMS.

I would take a look at your site itself but I doubt that would tell me much and you didn’t provide a URL so I can’t look.

Make sure that temp directory exists and is owned by the same user that owns the WordPress and that it has the proper permissions.

    Hi,

thank you for your reply. I did create the temp directory in wp-content folder, and set all permissions to 777. Still doesn’t work…

here is the link to the website just in case (there is nothing yet because i cant upload anything):

Hi Steve, thank you for the link. i tried the solutions listed there already, none of them worked. I contacted the hosting provider (Wedos), but no news from them yet…

i looked through the folder structure more thoroughly and discovered that in wp-content there is a directory called “uploads”, and inside there are folders “2019” and “et_temp”. could those be actual directories that are supposed to be temp?

hope it’s not a too silly question, im new to wordpress

Thanks, Steve. I’ll post my question in the “how to and troubleshooting” part of the forum.
