Missing baseball stats

  • While testing SP for baseball I realised that there is a whole group of player performance stats missing. In baseball there is something called fielding stats which are not at all present and would require a new category – so one would have batting, fielding and pitching.

    As far as I have seen batting and pitching is just a translation of the original SP categories Offence and Defence. How big of a problem is it to add a new category? Would it have to be added to SP plugin or just to the baseball extension?

    Hi Roch,

    thanks for the prompt reply, I looked into SP plugin and into the extension so I know it is a lot of coding. I’m looking for a plugin to help manage our team’s needs without having to hack the code of the plugin and making it difficult to maintain the site over longer period of time.

    Just as a aside: Baseball is a sport obsessed with statistics so missing a third of stats is making the plugin much less appealing (not immediately for us in the short term).

    SportsPress is easily extendable with no custom code, or in a way that it won’t break in future updates (if you do it correctly with a child theme or additional plugin)
