Hi, I’m having a problem with the ‘featured posts’ feature and I was hoping someone could please give me some help.

The problem is that I can’t even configure it because there is no Customize > Content > Blog Design panel in the theme settings. I have an edited child theme but the ‘Blog Design’ options panel wont even appear in the parent theme. I’ve looked in every panel and every setting but there are no ‘featured posts’ related options anywhere and I’m kind of frustrated already. What am I missing? (apart from this ‘Blog Desing’ panel, obviously).

It seems to me that this may be a dumb option or setting that I may have checked and forgot somewhere in wordpress or the theme options (although I’ve already looked everywhere there) and now I’ve disabled this ‘Blog Design’ panel. I can’t think of anything else, any Ideas?

    Appreciate the help!

    Hi,

Sorry, I did not notice that you had already created a new thread for your issue.
Please ignore my reply in https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/featured-posts-25/#post-8441930

    Let’s stick to this thread.

Now back to your support request.

The theme author has renamed the section.
The new path is in Appearance -> Customize -> Content -> Post Lists Design and Content

Please see my screen-cast which shows you the location.

You need to have posts tagged to a category. ( if not, theme will show recent posts ).

You need to go to Appearance -> Customize -> Content -> Post Lists Design and Content
Find the setting -> Feature posts on top of your blog
check the checkbox, in order to activate that section.

Next, you will need to go to the next setting -> Select a category to feature
to select your category, so that the posts get shown in the slider.

Save Changes when you are done.

That’s all you need to do.

    Thank you

Hi @denzel_chia many thanks for your time I really appreciate it,

Effectively, I don’t have that option panel shown in your screencast and for what I can see I’m missing some other options too.

I recorded a screencast too to show you. In it, I tested the customize options in both the original parent theme and the child theme so you can see there’s no difference. I also made sure (it ocurred to me just after watching your screencast) that the front page showed the default ‘latest posts’ option since I have a static splash page while the site is being worked with but that, however, made no difference.

In any case, let me know what you think,

    Thanks.

    Hi,

I have no idea why there are missing options on your website.

    1) Please try re-installing Hueman 3.2.10 and re-install WordPress
    2) Activate Hueman 3.2.10 ( not child theme )
    3) Disable any cache plugin’s caching via plugin setting, and disable all plugins.

Check if you are able to find those settings.

Post your system information from Appearance -> About Hueman
    If you require further assistance.

    Thank you

    Hi @denzel_chia

I did everything you said and the problem remained but I tried activating the original Hueman theme again and this time I had the option to choose which content to show on the home page (latest posts or static page) when I selected latest posts i got back the panel where the featured posts option was. It should be noted that the last time I did this change (home page content) I did it from the wordpress configuration panel and not from the theme options.

I’m not really sure what did the trick but I got it working now. Many thanks.

    Hi @quetalrobs,

    You are welcome.
    Thank you for your feedback.

I will keep a lookout and see if I can replicate this issue.
At the moment, I have no clue why this is happening.

    Thank you,

    Best Regards,
    Denzel
