Hello thanks for the answer! Yes it is still not visible, when you give “edit post” nothing happend still not visible. I think something is wrong with the capability, edit post is not the Required capability to show it !

What specifically is not visible? I’m still not sure what issue you’re seeing. Can you share a screen shot?

Like i wrote i use “Admin menu editor” to show for a specific role a edited menu ! The Required capability is “edit_posts ” when you add this capability to a role, BP Dokuments should bee seen in the admin bar. But in this case its not visible ! You must add bunch of other capability to be seen!

If I may jump in, I’m here for the same issue and I will try to explain it.

We are trying to fine tune the capabilities for who can publish/edit documents using another plugin called “Menu Editor Pro“. Currently, you almost need to give admin capabilities to enable Docs for any role (visible as OP describes it). I am not an expert in this area, I think the plugin needs its own capabilities for more narrow control.

Check out these examples for other plugins:

    However, for Docs plugin:

I hope this helps clarify the issue, or rather just a missing feature.

    Thanks,

I just realized something, these permissions are controlled using a built-in feature by adding group admins and mods. Even the Docs menu in the admin area is not needed and should be managed by the super admin only.

Hi @azzuwayed Thanks for the screenshots. Yes, BP Docs use dynamic permissions, which is why they’re not set up in the same way as other plugins. For instance, by default, any logged-in user can create a document, but a user must belong to a group to associate a document with it. When a doc is created, the document author can choose who can read and edit the doc, so each doc essentially has its own set of permissions.

We do not recommend creating documents from the WP Admin area, as they will not necessarily receive the meta and taxonomy terms they need to function properly.

Thanks for your explanation of the issue! I had no idea what this other plugin is attempting to do.
