    hi
The plugin’s email alerts about a user with admin access signing into the WP dashboard HAVE CHANGED – possibly with the most recent plugin update.

Previously, every such email alert included the following data:
    User IP
    User Hostname
    User location

Including my own (administrator) signing in – which is a good test of this functionality.

Now, I only get an email saying that someone has signed in with admin access – and 3/4 of the email is about upgrading to Premiumn. The critical information listed above is MISSING.

Cna you please advise how can I get it back.

    thanks

    Hi @wfasa

Ok. I have deactivated the BrokenLinkChecker plugin. I then first deactivated and then deleted WF. Cleared the cache. Re-installed WF. Then I received the same email alert as previously – which I didn’t read closely at that time and assumed it was a user login alert with my IP showing. It wasn’t – it was an alert that a user deactivated WF and it showed my IP address.

I logged out and logged back in. The new user email alert still had that critical part missing.

no, I do not delete files using WF scanner – why would I want to do that?

So re-installing WF doesn’t change anything. Something happened in the first two weeks of August at which time I remember updating WF. That file which fetches the new user email alert got somehow corrupted.

so I’m back to square one – what do I do?

Can you send me the corrupted file please? Or even just zip up the whole wordfence plugin folder. Send file or link to file to asa@wordfence.com.

    Thanks in advance!

    hi @wfsa

    The plot thickens.
I just logged in to my webmail on the server and..the WF email user login email alert is intact – it includes the whole IP data.

Sooo….it’s not the plugin but my Outlook?…..
I’m having in fact, some other very strange issues with it.

How is it possible that the text of an email is changed between the server and Outlook?…

    hi @wfasa

I can confirm that this is my Outlook issue, or anything on my PC that interfers with these emails.

When I download them to my phone – the message is intact showing my IP address.

In this case, I need to test my plugins for any incompatibility and then fix the OUtlook.

It’s not a Wf issue. many thanks for your assistance ??

    Hi @magicpowers,
That’s strange! But I’m glad to hear you’ve nailed down the cause. I’ll resolve this thread for now then. We’ll be keeping an eye out for similar reports. Thanks for the update!
