It looks like Apple-/Google Pay orders don’t have information in the datalayer about ecommerce, so that its not able to track the purchase event int GA4.

If the user chooses Apple pay in the checkout, there is no ecommerce object in the datalayer.

If the user uses normal stripe checkout everything works as normal. I also found this tread on another gtm plugin that makes me assume that the issue here lays on the payment gateway: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/purchase-event-data-layer-is-not-sending/

  • Hi there @smartjms ??

As I understand, you are having issues with tracking purchase events, as the current GA4 implementation stands at your store.

Just to clarify, when a customer checks out with COD, do they get redirected to the order-received page, or otherwise? Also, do GA4 events get tracked there?

The case with WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway, as with Cash On Delivery (COD), is that it redirects to the WooCommerce order-received page by default.

It appears that the screenshot here showcased the order-received page, as expected, therefore, feel free to reach out to the site’s GA4 implementation support channel for anything further, as they’d be in a better position to assist you.

I hope this is helpful! Please let us know if you have any further questions about this matter, or if we misinterpret your concern in any way. We will be happy to help you further.

Hi, yes its somewhat correct I guess.

We are using the official woocommerce enhance ga4 plugin, the main problem here is that no ecommerce datalayer is shown on the order-received page when it is paid with apple/google-pay via stripe.

    Hello again @smartjms ??

It appears that this was asked here also.

To get an idea of how your site is configured, before we proceed any further, could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via ‘WooCommerce > Status’. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
