    Hi
I wanted to find translations that I did to a certain plugin but I can’t find it in my backups. All that certain backup did was back up ‘uploads’ and not the rest of my files.
    How is that possible?
Also my backups stop midway with these errors:

    Hi,

Please could you send us a copy of the full backup log?
This can be found in the Existing Backups tab.

The contents will be too long to post here directly, but you can use an online service such as Pastebin, and post the link here.

I deactivated the plugin and reactivated it and today’s backup seems to be successfull but I need a backup from december which is not anymore in the backups tab. I do backup to dropbox. will I find the backup log there?

    Hi,

If the backup / log exists in Dropbox then you can either download it from there, or with Dropbox connected to UpdraftPlus you can rescan remote storage in the existing backups tab.

To do this go to the UpdraftPlus settings page, then select the existing backups tab.

From here there should be a link “Rescan remote storage” press this and it will pick up any backups stored in any connected remote storage option.

    Best Wishes,

    Ashley

    Hi,

UpdraftPlus is designed to delete older backups when it has hit a set retention limit.
What is the retention limit in the backup schedule options set to?

If the backup was not uploaded to Dropbox, and has not been pruned, then the files will be stored on the server in the ‘wp-content/updraft’ directory.

To share a screenshot, you can use an online service such as https://snag.gy/

    Hi,

It appears that the backup from December was pruned.

How many backups is UpdraftPlus set to retain?

    Thread Starter perla11

    (@perla11)

    what does pruned mean?
where do you think I would find the lost translations? in the plugins folder?
Also how do I know if my whole site is backed up?
My settings are set to weekly backups of database and files and retains two.
How come the backups are not complete?

    Hi,

Apologies, by ‘pruned’ I mean that the older backups were possibly deleted after new backups were taken. If your UpdraftPlus is set to only retain 2 backups, then the older ones should have been deleted.

The older backups that are displaying in the Existing Backups tab appear to have been found in local or remote storage. They may have been files that could not be deleted.

Translations of plugins are usually located in the plugin’s directory, often in a folder named ‘languages’.
