    My Google Product Category in Merchant center has the following text: “Categorized for you”

    Which expands to the following: “We categorized this product for you because you didn’t provide a Google product category. You can change the category anytime.”

    I have then noticed that even though my categories are all set up correctly under “Field mapping” and “category mapping”, the Google Product Category field is not then shown in the feed that gets produced. Any assistance would be much appreciated

    Experience the same problem. It happening to variation products. Is there a solution?

    This only happened after the recent update. Noticed it in 5.3.3

    Sorry, it’s not related to variation products. It’s happening when there are more than 2 levels in categories. For example have 3 levels, then this plugin does not work.

    We cannot reproduce the issue at hand (3-level-deep categories missing from feeds) so would you be so kind to generate the plugin’s debug.log and send it to [email protected] so we can see how exactly you have configured your feed?

    Hi Eva,

    There isn’t much in the debug.log. No error. Just mapping that I did for the feed.

    I did some research. For categories: A -> B -> C. I put the product in C, and only C. I generate the feed. The “Category (Not used for mapping)” is showing “B||C”. So I guess that means it’s either a B or it’s a C. That seems fine. Because C is a sub category of B.

    When this happens, then the google category mapping doesn’t show up.

    I saw you updated the plugin to 5.3.4. Not sure what was changed but 5.3.4 didn’t fix the problem.

    I rollback the plugin. I installed the plugin one by one from 5.0.1 to 5.0.2 and so on. I notice the problem start to happen on 5.2.6. The last working version was 5.2.5.

    I notice there are a lot of changes on categories recently. With the same setup, the plugin went from detecting only category “C” to “C||B“. That seems like fine. But something happened around 5.2.5 or 5.2.6 where having the “C||B” no longer matches Google categories.
