• I am missing about 95% of my images in my media gallery which is affecting the pages on my site. This happened some time around when my developer migrated a lot from their sandbox to my live site. I tried changing the permissions, reuploading a lot of the files, and checking with my host but have no success. I asked if my developer can try using the content files from their sandbox because the media files are still working on that site. Is there anything else you guys can think of?

check the URLs of the images.
are the actual images in the Uploads folder in the WP Content folder?

I think what @contentiskey is saying is that if you uploaded an image to the media library and it’s still not showing up on a particular page, you may need to remove the old link and re-add in the image, because the link, when created on the sandbox site, is going to be different than what is in your Production site.

For example, if on the sandbox site, the image was inserted with this link:
    https://sandbox.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/mypic.jpg
and now you’ve migrated over to example.com, you’re going to have to change the link to where the image is now stored on example.com.

Can you please post a link to a page where the image is missing?

Hi everyone thanks for answering. When I add new images for pages the file does go into my cpanel uploads content folders.

I understand. So even if I tried getting the sandbox files, they wont cooperate with my site.
So is also the reason why when I re-upload the files, they do not automatically populate on the pages?

I actually did not go thru the upload folders before posting this question. The files are actually missing. I asked my host how this could happen and they don’t know. I have around 5000 images, 2 seperate categories, 2 images per page, and are in alphabetical order. Weird thing is that 1 set of images the files are deleted after letter G and the 2nd set of images the files are deleted at the beginning of letter D.

My host advised me I could restore the site but I would lose a lot of my developers updates. So I may be stuck re-uploading all my images again and removing the others manually. What do you think?
