Missing Images from Random Months and Years
-
Hi there,
I’ve got a strange problem with some of the images on my site.
My blog has been going since 2012. The images from all of my posts from 2012 (August to December) are missing both in the library and on my site. There are images missing from all of my published January 2017 posts and from other random posts over the years and as late as May this year, 2018.
I have followed help posts that have suggested regenerating thumbnails but it hasn’t rectified any of the issues with the latest published posts that are missing images. In my most recent posts with the problem the only thing I could do was re-upload all my images which was a major pain because I use lots of imagery.
This year I decided to play it safe and moved from HTTP to HTTPS – it was pretty straightforward and I did get thinking it could have had a negative impact on my images – but I use a plugin to change http to https and the problem of the missing images has happened in posts after I changed over. I enquired about the problem with my service provider (and whom I bought the SSL Cert from and whom installed it) but they couldn’t /wouldn’t help and said it was a wordpress issue.
If I have to – I’ll upload the missing images for popular posts but it is going to take a ridiculously long time to do so, time I don’t have. Plus I think it’s having a big effect on my visitor stats.
Please help.
I’ve linked to a post that has the issue.
Thanks in advance,
