Missing Menu

When I first installed WP on my web site, I had a menu located at the top right of the screen, ( next to “Howdy ****) which I think had options such as search for WP Members, Search WP.org etc
I only saw it for a fleeting glance, so I cant be certain of all the options
But now its totally disappeared.
The only thing I have altered is installing “Yost SEO”
When I look into the “Menus” option in the left hand drop down tool bar, it empty

Any idea how I can restore this option ?

Its essential for me to link up with other members on WP that have a similar interest to me
