Facebook scrape is providing “missing og:image” even though it is set in 3 places. I deactivated all plugins so its not a conflict issue.
    – featured image set in wordpress
    – facebook image replacement in yoast
    – wordpress page default image when no image is present

Not just 1 post, has now happened with 2 new posts consecutively.

Unfortunately, it is now peak wedding/blog season so I can’t risk that. It needs to show up properly on my Facebook page as it does after reverting to 7.3 as @chadsexton suggested.

You should be able to test and fix on your own, please.

We have some bug reports open regarding the Facebook image issue. You can find and follow the progress of the open reports in here: https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues

I have wasted a huge amount of time with this today.
    I am running:
    WP 4.9.6
    Divi 3.4.2
    Yoast 7.5.3

Explicitly setting the FB title, description, image for each page seems to work on pages apart from the fixed home page where the og:image tag just isn’t being generated.

What I did do as a test was to switch the fixed home page to another page on the web site and the og:image tags were generated correctly on the old home page!!

I hope this is useful to someone.

It would also help to have a sticky post in this thread detailing the version of Yoast that actually works!

We apologize for any inconvenience. A bug report is currently open in our development repository for this issue and our developers are working hard to fix this. You can find and follow the progress of the report in here.

Closing this thread. Please follow the progress of the issue through the GH report.

    This tool:
    https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/sharing/

    Shows these error messages:
    – The ‘og:image’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.
    – The following required properties are missing: og:image, fb:app_id

I use the latest versions of WP, Avada, Yoast etc. Linked the image correctly in Yoast under fb-settings. Cant see the link in the source code.

Everything worked with earlier versions of Yoast.

I was having the same issue and going back to 7.3 fixed the problem.

Follow these steps by freschstudio (@doriancioban)

Here are the steps that worked for me:

    1. Deactivate Yoast plugin.
    2. Delete the Yoast plugin completely. Don’t worry, your SEO settings will be saved.
    3. Go here and under previous versions download version 7.4 (not 7.4.1 or later, it must be 7.4. as the bug is still present in later versions).
    4. Install it either via WordPress or manually via FTP.
    5. Activate it. ??

@sami-sanpakkila One thing to mention though is that I’m not experiencing this issue anymore with the latest versions of plugin – it works as intended.

It may be a theme compatibility issue.

    Hi support,

Somehow I’m experiencing this issue as well. Solution that worked is the one suggested in this thread: uninstalling the newest version (9.5) and installing 7.3. This is ofcourse not ideal. Can you please find a solution for this issue?

    @yourmark I still don’t have a solution yet either other than staying at v 7.3 ??

Having this issue as well, although resorting back to 7.3 didn’t do the trick.

@nicoleamanda A developer that I work with has found a conflict with another plugin ‘Network Media Library’. Just wondering, do you use this plugin as well? When deactivating this plugin the problem is solved. But I won’t deactivate it, because that will cause me more trouble at this moment ??

@yourmark I don’t unfortunately, but thanks for the idea!

@nicoleamanda No problem. Have you tried deactivating all other plug-ins 1-by-1, to see if there is a conflict with another plugin?
