• I try to make a custom menu in Appearance->Menus. When I select View All in the Pages box, about ten of 88 pages are missing. I looked at those pages but can’t find anything different or special about them.

What could cause wp to not list them?
There isn’t a max number of pages that can be listed, is there?

EDIT: I just realited, that all the pages are there, but they’re hierarchical listing isn’t correct, ie the pages I thought were missing are listed as top level pages somewhere but they are first child level pages.

  • The child pages in menus are indented. The child pages are under their parents and are indented inward. Just rearrange the pages the way you want. Just drag the child page further to the right (underneath its parent).

Sorry, I didn’t make myself clear enough: The hierarchical order in the Pages module (where you can add to Menu) is wrong for some pages. It’s not a big deal but if someone knows why I’d like to know.

That is weird. The problem may have something to do with your page order. Check the pages in question. See if their order numbers are causing the problem (Get the order number from screen option – while you are editing the page).

I’m experiencing this in some degree too.

I have several top-level pages representing persons and all of them have a biography subpage. Currently i’m unable to build the menu, for most of the subpages are not associated correctly with their corresponding parent pages.

All pages have an order number set. And in the Pages section everything is as it should. wp_page_nav() prints out correctly.

Here is a link to a screenshot of the situation where the pages listed should all be subpages for a person:

I changed the $per_page value from 50 to 5000 in wp-admin/includes/nav-menu.php line 587 and the problem disappeared.
