I downloaded this plugin and the WPSSO (Core Plugin) so that I could get schema markup for my product variations. However after installing both plugins and checking the schema markup with the google structured data testing tool, it is not showing product variation markup.

It says this is included in the free version “Provides extensive markup for WooCommerce products and variations”, however as there are no settings in the free version for product variations, is this not the case? Or are there settings that I am missing?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It says a bit more than that. ??

Provides extensive markup for WooCommerce products and variations:

Including product images, custom product variations (weight, size, color, material, etc), product reviews, product ratings, and much more (Pro version).

Schema markup for WooCommerce required the WPSSO Pro (Core Plugin) for 3rd party plugin support and the WPSSO JSON Pro version for the Schema Product markup.

Gotcha. Thanks for the quick reply.

I read that as “much more” included in the pro version. It might be more clear to add the “Pro version” tag to the heading “Provides extensive markup for WooCommerce products and variations:”, or just not include pro features in the main description section of the free plugin.

This section also implies that schema for products/product variation are included in the free version:

Comprehensive and accurate Schema / Rich Card markup for Google:

Including image objects / SEO, video objects / SEO, local business SEO, organization / publisher, person / author and co-authors, complete and very extensive eCommerce product markup, product variations, product ratings, aggregate ratings, reviews, recipe information, event details, collection pages, profile pages, and much, much more.

We will look at buying the pro versions.

I agree, because of this some of the article tag attributes are missing. Apparently forcing people to take pro version. I guess AIO SEO was better at doing this for free.
    Too bad!

@csine Product and Article are different Schema types, which have different requirements. The Pro version of WPSSO and WPSSO JSON can retrieve information about products from WooCommerce and create extensive JSON-LD markup for all variations.

As for the Article types and its sub-types, Google has strict requirements for image sizes / orientation, publisher info, logo images, etc. The Free version provides complete BlogPosting markup, which is a sub-type of Article.

The Free version offers basic features that most sites need. If you need more advanced / customized features, you may want to have a look at the Pro version.
