  • I’m experiencing this same issue.

This problem occurs in the circumstances in which you add / configure a connection, remove, and then try to reconfigure again. The problem occurs when you try to reconfigure this connection.

    Solution:
Step1 – Observe the Request URL. Copy it and paste it here:
    https://meyerweb.com/eric/tools/dencoder/

    Step 2:
Inside this page (https://meyerweb.com/eric/tools/dencoder/) Find the DECODE button and click on it.

    Step 3:
Observe the decoded URL. And find the “ads_read” parameter.

    Step 4:
    Remove EVERYTHING AFTER “ads_read”.

    Step 5:
Copy the URL, paste it into your browser’s address bar and press ENTER.

Ready! The new connection can be successfully reconfigured!

I have followed the steps but still, I am facing this issue @barrosofilho

Problem persists even after following instructions

Everything started with this alert today morning:

Already tried to uninstall + reinstall, follow link decoding + removal advice. Nothing works

    Hi there,

tried this – after pasting the truncated link we are offered the option of configuring again. after we save the configuration all seems to be fine

“You’ve now linked WooCommerce Extension V2 to Facebook
You can update what WooCommerce Extension V2 can do in your Business integrations settings. To finish setting up, WooCommerce Extension V2 may require additional steps.”

After clicking OK, we should get the Auttomatic redirect. Instead we get an Auttomatic notice saying

“Something went wrong when connecting to Facebook!
    Please try again.”

i am also getting this same problem:

    Your solution doesn’t work

The current version of the plugin is really in trouble.

    Then do the following:
    Step 1:
Remove the current version of the plugin

    Step 2:
    Install this version https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/facebook-for-woocommerce.1.11.4.zip

    Step 3:
    Start the configuration this way
WooCommerce > Settings > Integration > Facebook for WooCommerce

    It worked for me.

Thank you so much !! @barrosofilho Yes this solved my problem.
    You are [redacted] genius brother!
    Love you from India
Degrade the plugin version it will work

this also worked for me, but the link was already set up between the two before the update so does that mean if the plugin updates again then it will break again?

@thejolyroger it would be better if you unset automatic plugin update just for that one and wait for a future version, I guess

    @barrosofilho

Same here, using plugin 1.11.4 allowed us to reconnect with FB.

    Many thanks

    Hey @gbruzzo, @lorex75, @thejolyroger, @abhi1621, @barrosofilho!

Thanks so much for joining in here to try and resolve the issue! We’ve been made aware that this is happening for new connections and have reached out to the Facebook team to let us know what’s suddenly caused this. We haven’t released any changes to the plugin itself, so it does seem that there may have been a change to the Facebook API that we use instead.

In order to help the Facebook team troubleshoot this further, it would be great if we could get some additional details for your accounts that would help them pinpoint your connections. At the moment they are asking if they could have your Facebook email address, and Business Manager ID.

As I can appreciate these are sensitive pieces of information, we would request that you raise a support request via our support form so that we can collate the information in private and send it over to them. If you’d be willing to pass this on to us, that would be a great help!

Of course, we’ll circle back here if we find out more too. For reference, you can find your business id by:

    • Going to the Business Manager page.
    • Select the business you are attempting to connect.
    • Check the URL – you should see a business_id value there.

    Thanks so much!

    Simon.

Ok, I’ll let you know all details asap
