Loaded my first sheet. Signed up for a task. I don’t have “logins required” turned on.

The sign up sheet details shows 1 filled spot but the Sheet Details shows all tasks as empty.

Didn’t see this in the support section.

    Can you suggest something?

Have you tried reading the documentation and checking all your settings?
    https://stephensherrardplugins.com/docs/pta-volunteer-sign-up-sheets-documentation/

You can set it to show “filled” for the spots that are filled, instead of the name, and then the empty spots will still show as empty. You can also set it to show a summary of filled & open spots.

Lots of people use this plugin, and nobody else has reported problems. So, either you don’t have things set correctly for what you are expecting to see, or there is a theme/plugin conflict of some kind that is making something not work properly.

Also, you say the sheet details shows 1 filled spot, but then also say that the sheet details shows all tasks as empty. Which is it? Either you typed something wrong, or I don’t understand what you are trying to say or what you are expecting to see. If one spot is filled, but you have many that you need for that tasks, it will show one spot filled and the rest as empty.

With regards to: “Also, you say the sheet details shows 1 filled spot, but then also say that the sheet details shows all tasks as empty.”

Correct, there is a mistake there. “Sheet Details” (the detailed listing of all tasks) shows no evidence of the tasks being registered for, while “Sign Up Sheets” (the listing of All Sheets with summary sign up status in the columns to the right) shows tasks filled.

Essentially, user gets an email saying they’ve signed up, but there’s no record of that in the Sheet Details.

I tried to use both settings “Filled” or the Name… Neither resolved the issue.

    Thanks for your response.

I can’t recreate that problem, and have had no other reports of anything similar.

Have all the spots for the task been filled so that the “View & sign-up” link on the main list is replace with “Filled”, but then if you click on the title to view the sheet all the spots are empty with sign-up links? Or nothing is showing at all?

If you view the sign-ups on the admin side, do they show up in those list tables?

Not going to be much I can do about this if it’s not something that I can make happen on my test sites, and nobody else is having the same issue. Sounds like a site specific problem. Either conflict with something else, or some database issue, or possibly even some caching issue. Hard to tell without seeing it for myself, and site specific issues are usually beyond the level of support for free plugins. If it’s a problem with my plugin, I’ll gladly try to figure it out and fix it. But, if it’s something that’s messed up with your site, not much I can do about it from here.

I received the CRON job mails saying it cleaned out a number of expired tasks which lead me to look at the expired events settings. Apparently all the tasks were being deemed “expired”. I checked the box in settings to “show expired tasks” and I was able to then see tasks which had been signed up for. And now it seems to be working as you would expect. I am not sure a date got corrupted somewhere? My test event was definitely in the future.

I have to look through the documentation more to see if I can find more about expired tasks and how they work. Anyway. Seems to be working now. Thanks for the responses.

Make sure you are using the datepicker pop-up to select dates when creating sheets/tasks so that the date is saved in the format required (dates will be translated on the front-end to the format you set in your regular WordPress settings, but they need to be entered in a very specific way). It’s possible to type in dates instead of using the date-picker, so if you did that, but used the wrong format, the date will be interpreted wrong.

Or, perhaps you changed the timezone on your WordPress site (or server?) after those tasks were created??

The settings for expired tasks will determine if you want the plugin to automatically delete signups that are expired (past date). If you have a lot of signups on a regular basis, checking this will keep the size of the signups table reasonable by deleting old entries from the table. However, if you want to keep a record of all signups (on the admin side, with the view expired option), then you do NOT want to have it set to automatically delete the old ones since once they are gone you can’t get them back.

Since this was something unique to your site, and there are no reports of similar issues (and I could not recreate the issue on my test sites), I’m marking this as resolved.
