Missing stylesheet

    Hi, Complete Newbie here !!

    My site has loaded correctly,( big round of applause I hope) but upload of any themes is returned by Broken Theme – missing style sheet. Has anyone any ideas – plain non techie language would be great. Many thanks

    Is there a moderator out there that can shed some light?

    mine is missing too – have loaded it up seveal times- deleted them completely and checked again. still missing and broken – have tried a few different themes – the only one that works is the default ones.

    If it says the stylesheet is missing then you’re either uploading to the wrong place or not uploading all the files. Or possibly you’re nesting the theme folders.

    Edit: Oops just saw that this was resolved. NM.

    Missing stylesheets are not missing; they’re in the wrong folder.
    The problem comes from the Unzip facility which creates a new Folder inside your destination folder if you’re careful. Check that you do not have
    /wp-content/themes/mynewtheme/mynewtheme/style.css etc.
    move all the files to the higher folder so you get:
    /wp-content/themes/mynewtheme/style.css
    Problem solved.
