• hello,

i had a perfectly running multisite installation with two sites. my root site and another one for an english version. unfortunately i had some malware issues and were forced to overwrite or delete some php files. after these fixes the site worked well again, but my english subdomain isn’t accessible anymore. in the dashboard the title disappeared and when i want to enter the dashboard of the subdomain it automatically redirects me to my root site.

i run the wordfence plugin to check, whether my wordpres corefiles are correct and they are. multisite is correctly activated in the wp-config and my htaccess file. i also can add new sites without any problems, but my old one simply doesn’t work anymore.

    i would appreciate any hints
    best regards
    philipp

When you say the subdomain isn’t accessible, you mean it’s not displaying either the front or the dashboard, right?

What files did you overwrite or delete?

Have you tried downloading a fresh version of WP from wp.org, unzipping, and via FTP (or hosting file manager) deleting the WP core files, then uploading the fresh versions? This would be ONLY wp-admin, wp-includes and all the loose files in the same directory where those are found — EXCEPT NOT wp-config.php or the wp-content directory!

And just checking: you didn’t make any database changes, right?
