Missing text on MyAccount navigation link – Edit Address

    There is missing text on My Account navigation link – Edit Address and I can’t click it either. However, I can click on the ‘billing address’ field on left (under Hello Ammar …) just fine. I’m using Twenty Seventeen theme. I checked if a plugin was causing the issue but it was not the case. The dev console on browser shows:

    <li class=”woocommerce-MyAccount-navigation-link woocommerce-MyAccount-navigation-link–edit-address”>

    under elements tab and you can see the text is missing. I ignored this issue for quite some time because I thought this was a bug which would be fixed in an update. A fix/solution would be appreciated. I’ve attached the Screenshot which shows this issue.

    Hi @ammar7347!

    Can you please head over to your “WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced” settings and make sure all the “Checkout endpoints” are correctly set and contain no stray characters?

    Additionally, please respond back with your sites’ status report, found under “WooCommerce > Status” page.

    I am using default endpoints and I’ve checked the checkout endpoints and everything seems okay. You can also see/confirm from the attached photos

    Hi @ammar7347 ,

    I wonder if one of those other plugins is conflicting with that particular endpoint. It could be any of them, but two stand out to me: Cloudflare because it could be caching something and WOOCS because it changes things on the display.

    If you deactivate those, does it help? If not, can you try deactivating all the other plugins besides WooCommerce?

    If that makes the Addresses tab reappear, then you can re-enable plugins one at a time until the text disappears. The last one enabled is the one making it not appear.

    If that still doesn’t narrow it down, there may be a translation string hidden somewhere. Let us know if you need help figuring that out!

    @mikestraw thanks for your prompt reply. Unfortunately, I already tried disabling all the plugins except woocommerce before posting here but I experienced the same problem i.e missing edit address text.

    However, your reply certainly helped and it was a localization/language issue. I was using English (UK) for my WordPress website and changing it to English (United States) fixed the problem. I tested this language fix thrice and it is indeed the WP language problem.

    @tgunergun Change your WP language to English (United States). You can do that by going to Settings>General>Site Language

    @ammar7347 good tip! but I’m in the UK, changing that may cock up things.. if this is a language file issue, WP needs to address it. I’ll also check the language files see a manual edit can fix it. cheers

    This is odd, as I’m not able to reproduce the problem, even on an out-of-the-box site with UK English.

    I also checked the UK language file on my site, and Addresses is there.

    You may need to update your language files to the most current version. If you go to Dashboard > Updates is there an option to update your translations? If so, try updating to see if that helps.

    @mikestraw all translations/language files are up-to-date and my UK language file also shows ‘Addresses’ correctly in the editor. Perhaps it has to do with the twenty seventeen theme? I can’t check/confirm this as it just breaks my website if I change the theme.

    @mikestraw – I have exact the same problem .
    I have WP version 5.5.3–nl_BE installed and the site language is Dutch (Belgium).
    Tried to solve the issue via Loco Translate, but no success.
    I also encountered a post on internet regarding the same problem for a webshop in Arabic.
    Looking forward to a solution comming from Woocommerce.

    I still see the Addresses on Twenty Seventeen, as well. I did find this reported bug for a similar issue with an Italian translation: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/issues/27655

    Is there anything on the Other tab for the “Addresses” translation? Just to confirm if that’s part of the issue, can you try putting something in there to see if that resolves it?

    I checked the “Other” tab in Loco Translate and it was empty.
    When I added my Dutch translation “Adressen” to this empty tab, it displayed corrrectly on the MyAccount page.
