Missing user name and product name from email
-
Hi since few weeks I’m seeing the following problem. Sometimes (not allways) when a user subscribe for a product to be notified their name and the product name to which they have sunscribed is missing from the Success Subscription Mail. What can be causing this inconsistent issue?

Hello there,
Good Day!!
We’re here to assist you.
We tested your reported issue on our end, but unfortunately, we were unable to reproduce it on our end.
The subscriber name (if enabled) and product subscribed to will be automatically retrieved after each successful subscription. You may see this in the Subscribers list table (Admin Dashboard > Instock Notifier > All Subscribers).
We suggest you troubleshoot with the following:
1. Ensure that the shortcode for subscriber name “
{subscriber_name}
” and product name “{only_product_name}
” that you entered in the email settings section is correct. Incorrectly entered or missing shortcodes in the email settings can result in an inconsistent display of information in the emails.(Admin?Dashboard > Instock?Notifier > Settings > Mail Settings)2. Deactivate all other plugins except “WooCommerce” and our “Back In Stock Notifier for WooCommerce” to see if it works properly. Sometimes this issue may arise due to conflicts between different plugins.
Thanks.
Hi,
Thank you for the reply, sorry for not replying myself earlier but just now I found when the problem occurs – only when the user’s email is in gmail.
What is happening now is that I as an admin get a notification email in which I can see the user name and product to which he is subscribing but the email is not displayed. Also the user don’t receive the first email (for the successful subscription) but receive the second email when the product is back to stock.
Hello there,
Good Day!!
Could you please share a screenshot of the ‘Mail Settings’ section on the settings page (Admin Dashboard > Instock Notifier > Settings > Mail Settings) with us to better assist you?
Let us know.
Thanks.
Hi,
Thanks for your reply, but I think I managed to solve the problem by installing WP mail SMTP plugin, before that the website was using the default WordPress mailing system, but after installing WP mail SMTP the problem seems to be solved. Thanks once again, I’m really liking your plugin.
Hi,
I thought that I’ve solved the problem with the missing data from the emails, but the problem still exist and I can’t find any patterns. Here is a screenshot of the plugins settings as you requested in your previous reply – https://share.cleanshot.com/LZ5gLBQt
I’m also sending you a screenshot of one of the emails with missing data, so you understand better the issue – https://share.cleanshot.com/grs0wRBJ
If you need some access to the website I can give you.Hello there,
We’re here to assist you.
Could you please share information about which subscription entry created the issue, along with the screenshot (Admin Dashboard > Instock Notifier > All Subscribers > Subscription entry that creates the issue (screenshot))? This will help us troubleshoot far more easily.
Let us know.
Note: Considering WordPress and our norms, we refrain from directly working on the live site or requesting credentials/access to it.
Thanks.

About the access to the website no problem, if you point us in the right direction we can also make the necessary corrections.
Hello there,
Thanks for the screenshot.
Please provide the following information:
- Could you please share your product URL along with a screenshot of the email content corresponding to your specified subscription entry with us? This will help us see the emails on your end.
- Verify that the issue replicates in the email with the shortcode sent to all subscribers, including both subscription and in-stock emails.
- Deactivate all other plugins except “WooCommerce” and our “Back In Stock Notifier for WooCommerce” to see if it works properly. Sometimes this issue may arise due to conflicts between different plugins.
Let us know.
Thanks.
Hi,
- This is the URL of a product that a user has subscribed but there is no data in the email – https://arms-bg.com/oborudvane/koburi/kobur-za-vtreshno-nosene-za-sig-sauer-p365-cytac/. This a screenshot of the email – https://share.cleanshot.com/d0XfHF9y and this is a screenshot of the entry in the admin – https://share.cleanshot.com/PZFfwrhq
- Can you tell me how can I verify that?
- I’ll make test on the staging site, but the problem is that I haven’t been able to replicate the issue when I have made tests.
Hello there,
Thank you for the precise information.
We tested the product URL you provided by subscribing to it, but unfortunately, we were unable to reproduce your reported error on our end. In our successful subscription mail, the subscriber name and product name were perfectly retrieved.
We noticed that the screenshot you shared is related to “Copy Subscription Mail Subject/Message” and not a subscription mail message. However, sometimes this issue may have been caused by some changes in the mail settings text before sending the mail, and now that this has been corrected, it works correctly.
We attached a tested and working screenshot for your reference:
